Automated Gates

Automated Gates

We know how important security is to people and their businesses; automated gates ensure a property’s security and easy access, whilst also enhancing its character. The companies we have used for the last 25 years to provide our automation equipment and intercoms are trusted for their quality and reliability. We offer a wide selection of automatic gate devices, including swing and rolling gate features. All electric automatic gates must comply with modern safety standards so a combination of devices will be required.

We can supply and fix all manner of gate styles, including timber, metal or composite-clad gates. Our timber-clad, steel-framed gates are particularly popular owing to their durability and aesthetic appeal (see video example adjacent). Aluminium gates are also a great alternative to wood – little maintenance, no rust and long-lasting. All our metal gates are hot-dipped galvanised and powder coated, and any gate can be finished with a colour of your choice.

Vehicle Induction Loop Detector

Induction loops can be used for vehicle safety to provide ‘hold open safety’ or ‘start’ inputs to open the gate systems. They consist of a coil of cable (loop) set just below the drives’ surface. The tails of this loop are wired back to the ‘electronic detector unit’. When a vehicle passes over the loop, the metalwork of the passing vehicle causes the detector unit to change state and signal the automatic gate system to perform its programmed action.

Photocells

GMS Intercom

Photocells:
These are the most common type of device used to provide ‘hold open’ safety. Photocells work by emitting an infrared beam across the driveway which is constantly monitored by the photocell receiver unit.

GSM Intercom:
The intercom can be programmed to ring up to four different phone numbers consecutively, run by a standard phone SIM card. It will call these numbers until one is answered, at which stage you will have the opportunity to talk to the person at the gate and, if you wish, let them in by pressing 1 on your landline or mobile phone.

Lepus 1600 Motor

Safety Edges:
Contact strips with integral trigger wire and switch, these items are commonly used to provide safety on sliding gate systems. If the edge is touched, it will stop the gate.

Lepus 1600 Motor:
Very smooth and reliable sliding gate motor, suitable for most sliding gate applications.
